Everywhere in the world , when we talk about WWE the first name that comes to our mind is John Cena . John has been part of WWE since June 27 , 2002 when he debuted in smackdown and since then has served WWE . John Cena may have some haters but you can't ignore his fan base and his qualities as a wrestler . Here are 7 reasons why Cena is one of the greatest wrestler in the history of WWE .
1. Achievements as a wrestler :
As a wrestler John Cena has achieved every possible title in WWE . In total , he has 25 championships to his name till date which include 16 time WWE championship , 5 time reign as US champion and 4 time reign as a Tag Team champion . He is also one time Money in the Bank ladder match winner and two time Royal Rumble winner . He stands fourth after Bruno Sammartino , Bob Buckland and Hulk Hogan as highest number of days combined together as WWE champion . After achieving everything imaginable in his 15 year long career Cena is still in his best shape and we hope he still has many title reigns left in him . He is also three time superstar of the year Slammy Award winner .
2. Wrestling Skills
Many of his haters may go on booing him and continuously chanting you can't wrestle but if it was so how could he had reached at the top WWE and be the face for nearly a decade . Yes , I can agree sometime back his wrestling skills were showing a little downfall but his recent matches with AJ Styles at Royal Rumble and Summerslam , Kevin Owens at Elimination Chamber , Seth Rollins and Lesnar had proved his worth as a formidable wrestler . Though Cena is now in his late 30's but we can still expect some excellent matches in future against the likes of Undertaker , Finn Balor , Shinshuke Nakamura and many more .
3. Mic Skills
When Cena is in the ring with his microphone you just can't afford to stand up . He engages with the crowd in an unbelievable and helps to create the build up of the match . His face offs against The Rock , CM Punk and AJ Styles are one of the memorable ones . He creates enough hype by his microphone for any match and very few wrestlers in the current roster or in the past have as great as Cena on microphone .
4. Loyalty to the company
John Cena has served WWE for nearly 15 LONG years . His name is big enough and he could leave WWE and earn much much more than what he currently earns . But unlike The Rock who left WWE for his hollywood dream and Hulk Hogan who left for WCW , Cena never left the company . He has earned the company the recognition all across the globe . Once you associate any match or merchandise with the name of Cena then you need not advertise the match or merchandise . He could easily earn a bigger fortune out of the company but he is serving the company selflessly over the years .
5. Part Timer for a reason
John Cena has been the face of WWE for a decade and now the company needs a new face who can carry company forward . It could not be possible if Cena continues to wrestle on regular basis . Moreover , the part of WWE universe which is over with him also gets excited when he wrestles less often . He has since 2014 helped in putting main wrestlers on the main event card like AJ Styles and Kevin Owens . Cena is also now nearing 40 and now regular matches may impart him injuries more frequently . Cena is sacrificing his main event role by allowing other wrestlers to become the face of WWE .
6. Fan Favourite
Owing to his excellent mic skills Cena enjoys a huge fan base behind him . He has earned his spot as being favourite of the fans by being part of many social cause programmes and helps raising funds for noble causes . He has great connection with the younger audience and had made 500 wishes come true under Make A Wish programme . Everyone has a reason to be his fan owing to his mic skills or wrestling skills or his contribution to the society . Cena is a fan favourite and will always be .
7. Hard Work
Almost every wrestler admits that he is the first person to enter the performance centre and is last to leave which gives enough prove of the hard work our cenation leader do . He works hard and has improved on his mic skills , hiss wrestling skills and everything the WWE universe demanded . Sometimes when he is out of the ring because of injury and is expected to return afeter 6 months , he always surprises his fans by making an earlier comeback all because of his dedication . No other wrestler has been so much committed to the company welfare as John is .
Despite several reasons to love Cena but he has got a lot of haters . Though Cena is not the same as he was in his earlier days but it doesn't mean that he do not deserve respect . Love him or Hate him but reality is that you can not stop his name being written in history books of WWE .
